For this episode of 24, there has been some more development. Dana faces more trouble when the guy who’s looking for her ex boyfriend went to CTU for some question and he knows what questions to ask.

The episode ended where CTU is powerless.. literally. And EMP bomb destroyed all electronic devices in the CTU HQ

Yes, in this episode Jack was captured by the Russian folks who are selling the Uranium rods. From the last episode of 24, we saw how Rene killed Vlladimir and how Jack let himself get captured by the Russian.

He was very confident that CTU will be tracing him from aerial view but he did not expect that they will be using the sewer. When he was tied and tortured but of course he got away and informed CTU Chloe of his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Dayna is in hotter water still when his ex decided to stick around a while longer. She went awol from CTU to ‘take care of her business’. Agent Ortis began to suspect something when the dude who has a crush on Dayna told him that Dayna is secretly meeting with her ex.

Anyway back to Jack Bauer action. He managed to single handedly defeat all the bad guys… that’s the Jack Bauer we know.

They were able to know the location of the Uranium in exchange for full immunity (which is way over used in the 24 series). But when they got there, the people guarding it were dead and the Uranium was gone.. Joseph took it! Why? For the money and more importantly to make his father pissed.

Have you notice agent Cole Ortiz on this episode? Oh yeah, there’s this one scene where he looks for Dayna, asks the geek guy where he is and looked confused with the answer, “She went home”… And after than, no more scene for Freddie.

So, if there were no action scenes for both Jack Bauer and Cole Ortiz, what happened with the whole hour? Well, the story behind Dayna’s past is shedding some light. Apparently she’s an ex-convict, or she’s been in prison for accessory to murder with her bad a$s boyfriend.

Vlladimir, the Russian guy who Rene and Jack was suppose to go under debut in this episode. Looks like Rene and Vlladimir had some past story themselves.. Jack know it too, he knows that the FBI covered up the whole assignment when Rene left and Jack knew that Rene tried to kill herself at least once.we’ll watch out for it in the future episodes.

From the last episode, agent Ortiz was able to stop the assassination plot of President Hassan. We also found out that there is a weapon of mass destruction being sold (come on, you expected that, this is 24) and the President’s brother supposedly wire transferred the money.

The guy that selling Uranium also agreed with his other son, Joseph, to take his sick brother to some clinic and they must not be visible.

There’s the father and son moment.. ‘but alone like this, in a cold room behind the kitchen? He’s my brother Papa and he’s your son.’ He brought his brother to a doctor… that’s another story to watch out for in the next episode.

So, what do you think about this hour of 24? Do you agree that there’s not so much as a bullet went out from Jack Bauer’s gun? No explosion, no gun fighting, no excitement?

First hour shows Jack Bauer with his grand daughter watching TV. Soon he’ll tell his (lovely) daughter Kim that he will come with them in L.A. This plan will soon put on hold when Victor Aruz, one of Jack’s former informant will ask for his help… he would probably feel ambivalent about it, but he’ll help him anyway – to prevent the assassination plot of President Omar Hassan.

After calling CTU (Chloe was there!) and telling them about the bad guys’ plan, Jack would then take his informant to CTU… But Aruz died during the helicopter pickup with CTU agent Davis Cole.

Let’s go back to CTU NY, there are many new characters in the Counter Terrorist Unit. Chloe’s back in CTU and somehow demoted. She looks like she’s under Dayna Pakkala (Davis Cole’s fiance) Anyway, all the gadgetry and technology in CTU seemed far advance for Chloe that she’s having a hard time catching up.

The first 4 episodes of 24 was successful enough to get the viewers attention with all the action and wrapping up the first part of the huge, complex, season wide story. They were able to save President Hassan’s life and found out who from the inside was the leak, but knowing 24 and the writers/producers around it, there are more to come to the story not to mention all that Jack Bauer hollering.

Here are some possible plots that may come up in the future episodes of 24.. The one with Dayna’s ex… What’s up with that? I think Dayna’s past with this dude has something to do with all the terrorism that going to happen.

I also see a possible story branch on Brian Hasting, the new CTU director. But speaking of him.. he’s a real dumb @ss, isn’t he? He’s been presented by leads but did nothing to follow it up?! He’s the new favorite of 24 fans to hate, if you ask me.

One more thing, since we all know that this is the final season of 24… am I smelling a Freddie Prince, Jr. spin-off of 24.. this early in the season?! Hmm.. it’s possible and it all depends on the viewers acceptance to  him and his acting performance for that CTU character that he’s playing.

It’s possible right?

I wonder if my Elisha Cuthbert, my love, will be back in the future episodes… Probably in the finale episode when she attends Jack’s funeral.. Heaven forbid!

Series Returns with Two-Hour Premiere Event Sunday, January 17, on FOX

Katee Sackhoff, Freddie Prinze Jr., Mykelti Williamson, John Boyd, Jennifer Westfeldt and Chris Diamantopoulos have joined the cast of 24 for the series’ eighth season. The Emmy Award-winning drama starring Kiefer Sutherland returns for its next astonishing day with a two-night, four-hour premiere beginning Sunday, Jan. 17 (9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Season Eight will unfold in New York City amidst the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the United Nations. In this new day, CTU has been upgraded and is run by MBA-schooled and razor-sharp head honcho BRIAN HASTINGS (Williamson, “Forrest Gump”). COLE ORTIZ (Prinze Jr.), an ex-Marine who wants to follow in JACK BAUER’s (Sutherland) footsteps, runs the division’s Field Operations. Expert data analyst DANA WALSH (Sackhoff, “Battlestar Galactica”) collaborates with systems analyst ARLO GLASS (Boyd, “The Notorious Bettie Page”) inside CTU. Oooh, look who’s a tough guy. 24 has added Freddie Prinze, Jr. as the newest agent in the Counter Terrorism Unit. The move comes a day after it was announced the show was adding two other actors, John Boyd and Jennifer Westfeldt.

Prinze will play the very CTU-sounding Davis Cole, a former Marine who takes over the CTU Field Ops, says The Hollywood Reporter. But Cole has grand ambitions: he is grooming himself to be the next Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland).

Prinze jumped into Hollywood as a dreamboat in various teen-oriented movies such as I Know What You Did Last Summer and She’s All That. He’s also married to Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Hmmm… do you think Prinze can really pull off the macho needed to be a CTU agent?

It’s looking like the network battle for Katee Sackhoff has finally been won. The sought-after Sackhoff broke out as a television star on Sci-Fi Channel’s Battlestar Galactica as Starbuck, making her a hot commodity among networks seeking a new female lead. With BSG D-O-N-E, it’s time Sackhoff found a new job.

Sackhoff will now call Fox home, according to EW.com, as the actress has reportedly signed on as a regular on 24. She’ll play a CTU data analyst named Dana Walsh who has some secrets she’s hiding. Dana will also be romantically involved with Davis Cole, played by the recently cast Freddie Prinze, Jr.

Before Battlestar Galactica ended, Sackhoff was courted by NBC and appeared on the short-lived Bionic Woman. After that she did a stint on FX’s Nip/Tuck and was pegged as the lead on NBC’s Lost & Found, but the legal drama pilot wasn’t picked up.

I just finished watching episode 22 (that’s hour 22) of Keifer Sutherland’s super action packed TV series – 24! Next Monday or this week feels like the longest week yet as the 2 hour season ender, season finale will air.

Anyway, episode 22 was a good episode in building up the excitement that will lead to the season ender episode of 24! Imagine Kim Bauer, at the last moment of the season, to be in danger to get back at Jack Bauer! Tony Almeida may still have one more change at redemption! I just feel like it.

Olivia and Canaan looks like they have another scene! I’m also waiting for that one. I also have a very big huntch that Agent Walker and Jack may have a future together… in Season 8!

What does Keifer has to say about season 7′s ending? “I think, maybe, five scripts (have been finished), so I can’t tell you too much,” Sutherland said. “But where it’s starting right now is probably the most believable scenario that I feel we’ve ever done before.”
