A group of gods abduct the Winchesters and try to use them to bargain with the angels to stop the Apocalypse. However, when Gabriel arrives to warn them, one of the gods betrays the others to Lucifer.

The episode takes it idea from a previous episodes that featured one of the Apocalypse’s  horseman, War. This time it’s Famine who took the spotlight.

Over all, the episode is fine. The dude who played famine looks more like Death than famine but he sure played the part well.. The being who is hungry for human soul.

The question that I always asks myself when I watch Supernatural (or any other TV series) is that how will this episode completes the whole story of the season for Supernatural. Was there any development on the story line? The episode is more serious than usual.. well, except for Dean’s humor (the one where he was talking to Castiel on the phone and then Castiel just appeared.. “I’ll hang up now.”).

So, anyway, Supernatural fans will miss the Winchester brothers for a while since they will be in hiatus for a couple of weeks. And we’ll be right here, for sure… Waiting.

“I want to have the sex with you”… Then we found out that some kid is inside Sam’s body.

Flashback from 36 hours before the bar scene, Sam and Dean arrived in a peaceful little town in Massachusetts called Housatonic. They met an old “swap Meat” acquaintance.. their old baby sister.

Apparently they will be helping their old nanny to get rid of a poltergeist in their house.

Sam and Dean ordered a bacon burger turbo, large chili cheese fries and a health quick salad shake(?) while researching information about the poltergeist.

“oh you shake it up baby!”.. the first Dean Winchester humor for this episode.. Nice one.

They found out that the house their former nanny bought was old, really old, like a hundred years with a legend saying a woman who was apparently a witch was hanged in the backyard.

While the Wincherster brothers are discussing the haunted house, the kid from the burger counter is looking very weird at Sam. Looks like he’s up to no good with that crooked smile.

Sam was knocked out with some sort of a sling shot and when he woke up in the woods, he’s wearing the kid from the burger house’s uniform. He was picked up by a police officer and brought him back to ‘his house’.

His ‘parents’ thought that Sam was drunk when he didn’t recognize them.. Sam was so confused until he saw his reflection in the mirror. He sees the kid.

Meanwhile Dean met the other ‘Sam’.. Gary took all the cellphone away so Dean wont receive the calls from the real Sam.. and headed our of the Motel. Oh and yeah, Dean let Sam drive!

At Gary’s home, Sam is trying very hard to contact Dean but failed. He said he’s in a wrong body and he has ashtma. Sam err.. Gary or Sam.. whatever you’ll know what I mean.. anyway, Sam found out that Gary is doing witchcraft that explains the switching body.

Dean got all his answers from the ‘Sam’ about Maggie Migs. That she is buried in the basement.

Sam is getting laid! Gary is tied up and found out that the kids are going to kill Dean.. Why?

Hell is giving a bounty for Dean!

When Gary’s friend felt that Gary is having ambivalent feeling about killing Dean, he summoned a demon to do it for them and get the reward.. unfortunately, he’s been killed… you know how it is in dealing with a devil.

When the devil went after Dean, Gary and Dean exercised the demon together. Later, Gary and Sam swithced places and they lived happily ever after… at least for this episode.

“Welcome back Cutty”.

Anyway, the show started the first scene in a place called Glenwood Springs Psychiatric Hospital in Oklahoma

There’s this woman talking to a doctor about her not talking any of her medication. She doesn’t want to take meds before it maade her sleep and when she’s asleep, monster comes.

The dumb doctor didn’t listen and the ‘monster’ came that night… It appeared that she slit her wrist.

Sam, Interrupted

Sam and Dean went to the hostpital for admittace.. ‘probably because I started the apocalypse’… he actually told the truth and he sounded crazy.. which is the main goal anyway to have Sam admitted.

‘So could you fix him up so we can go back travelling around the country and hunting monsters?’.. that’s the Dean humor I want.

Sidenote: Cute nurse (at least before I became to know here more..  you see I am writing this while watching the episode. This whole part in parenthesis is the edited version, after I finished watching it).  I’m Googling her name.. “Erma” is the screen name.. or you can comment on the actress’ name, thanks

I love the scene when the Winchesters brothers were asking Martin.. He’s he man who contacted the brothers for help.

Dean asked ‘Are they reliable’.. “oh sure, why wouldn’t they be”? Then Dean looked at a crazy woman humming and dancing, with this expression on his face… “Gee, I don’t know”… That always made the girl fans laugh, and me too sure.

Therapy group… the brothers were separated..  Sam was in the group, Dean was with the female doctor, whom he exchanged questions with.. The funny thing is he doesn’t have to lie when talking about ghosts and demons and monsters.

The one in Sam’s group said that there’s a monter, then the night he’s dead.. apparently hang himself.. Sam and Dean didn’t make it time to same him.. They found out that the brain was drained of all the fluids or something.

A wraith will show its true form in a mirror. That’s what Martin suspects after Sam and Dean told him of their findings in the morgue.

It’s the doctor… well, that’s what they thought at first.. But Dean has gone crazy!

Sam tried killing the doctor, good thing Martin stopped him because the would is not burning.. and that means, he’s not the wraith.

“I’m not ok.. I am Awesome!”, the highly drugged Sam told Dean after he was confirmed for his actions.

Then both brothers turned crazy!
Dean seeing all sorts of wraiths.. and the illusion Doctor.
Sam, locked down.. he’d turn totally crazy after seeing he’s been attached by all the patients.

Meanwhile, Dean and Martin found out that the cute nurse is the wraith! They were able to come on time to save the lady’s life. But the nurse went to Sam, who’s locked in… Dean came to the rescue..

The drama ending is about Sam being ‘angry all the time’..

That’s it.. all in all, it’s not as awesome as the other Supernatural episodes but it’s ok (like I said, I am a fan)… I just wished that there are some more development on the story.. hmm.. I wonder if Martin will help on the last few episodes of season 5? We’ll see.

UPDATE: I just found out that Supernatural wont be back until January of next year for the second half of the season.. Holy Crap! That even saddens me more that this sad episode… which btw, I told you this is a sad episode, Tim of TV.com agreed with me. Well, at least for the more serious this episode is anyway.

Synopsis

Sam, Dean, and Castiel find the Colt and go after Lucifer. The hunters reunite with Bobby to battle evil that could be potentially their last fight.

An old man, Mr. Pendleton drives to an underpass beneath a crossroads and buries a case. A demon, Crowley appears and Pendleton notes that he was previously negotiating with a young lady. Crowley informs Pendleton that he’s a valuable client and then says he’ll have to accept a kiss to seal the deal and bailout his bank. Pendleton reluctantly agrees. They’re unaware that Castiel is watching them and calls to let Sam and Dean know the deal is going down. As Crowley teleports away, Castiel follows him to a nearby home, warded in Enochian runes. Dean tells him they’ll take it from there.

That night, Crowley sips a drink and watches World War II footage of Nazis. Jo arrives at the gates and says that her car broke down. Two security guards come out and tell her to come in. When she tries to leave, their eyes turn black and they grab her, but Jo dispatches them with the demon-killing knife and Sam arrives.

In his room Crowley smiles as the power goes out. He goes to check and finds Sam and Dean waiting for him. Crowley notes it took them long enough and notices the rug between them is askew. He has his demons grab the brothers, shows them the colt, aims… and shoots the demos. Crowley tells them that they need to talk and explains that he distributed rumors to attract them, and now he wants them to use it to destroy Lucifer. He explains that Lucifer is an angel who hates humans, and he hates demons even more. Lucifer created demons as cannon fodder, and will destroy them once the humans are gone. Crowley just wants things to go back to normal. He extends the gun to Sam, who takes it and asks where the Devil is. Crowley tells him he can be found in Carthage, Missouri. Sam then points the gun at Crowley and pulls the trigger, but discovers it’s unloaded. Dean wonders if he’s considered all the options, including what happens if they fail, and Crowley tells them that he’s taking an extended vacation, and they shouldn’t miss.

Back at Bobby’s house, Ellen and Castiel are having a drinking contest while Sam wonders if the whole thing is a trap. Dean figures they have to take a chance no matter what, and determines that Carthage is heavy with Revelation omens, with six people missing. However, he tells Sam that he has to stay behind so Lucifer has no chance of getting hold of his chosen vessel. Sam insists that they have to do it together. Dean reluctantly gives in. They notice the drinking contest and Dean goes over to hit on Jo and try his “last night on Earth” speech. She starts to kiss him, and then tells him that she’d rather keep her self-respect. Bobby calls them over for a group photo and Castiel warns them it’ll be their last night on Earth.

The team drives into Carthage and Dean and Sam go to the police station while Jo, Ellen, and Castiel try to find someone on the streets. Castiel realizes that the town isn’t empty and focuses, seeing that there are hundreds of Reapers only he can view. He warns that they only assemble in times of great catastrophe. Castiel notices one moving in an upstairs apartment and follows the man further into the building. A light flares and someone says “Hello, brother.”

Jo and Ellen check with Sam and Dean and tell them that Castiel went after the Reapers.

Castiel finds himself in a circle of burning holy oil. Lucifer is there and is well aware that Castiel came with the Winchesters. Castiel notes that Lucifer’s vessel is deteriorating and Lucifer admits that it’s wearing a bit thin. Then angel insists he won’t get Sam’s body, and Lucifer notes that they are both rebels that were cast out. Castiel refuses to join forces with him.

The others search the town and find Meg waiting for them. When Dean aims the Colt at her, invisible hell hounds start moving in. Meg invites them to come to see her father but Dean shoots one of the hell hounds with the4 Colt and they run. Dean is taken down and Jo comes to his aid, but another one attacks and rips open her stomach. Dean picks her up and they take refuge in a shop and salt the doors and windows. Dean tries to rig a radio and call Bobby. They get hold of him and update him on the situation. Dean warns that Jo isn’t going to survive and starts to crack, but Bobby helps get it under control. They then confirm there were over a dozen Reapers and Bobby concludes that Lucifer is going to use a ritual to unleash Death, the Fourth Horseman. He has also been researching Carthage, and informs them that the Angel of Death must be freed on a place of Carthage, and a major battle took place on William Jasper’s farm.

Meg arrives to tell Lucifer that she has the Winchesters pinned down. Lucifer tells her to leave them alone for now and everything happens for a reason. Castiel listens, and notices a heating pipe overhead. Lucifer says they have time to see if he can change Castiel’s mind.

Dean and Sam try to figure a way to transport Jo, but she tells them that she can’t be moved. She suggests that they build a bomb and she draws in the hell hounds while the others slip out. Ellen refuses to let Jo sacrifice herself but Jo asks her to treat her like an adult for what will probably be the last time. Ellen cries and then tells them to go to work.

The brother assembles a bomb using propane and nails. Dean gives Jo the trigger and says they’ll meet again on the other side. Ellen kneels next to her daughter and Jo realizes that she’s staying to let the hell hounds in. She tells Jo that it’s important, and tells Dean and Sam to get going. As they leave, she tells Dean to kick Lucifer in the ass. Once they’re gone, she turns on the propane, unlocks the doors, and breaks the salt lines. She tells Jo that she’ll always love her, and then realizes that her daughter is dead. As she cries, the hell hounds break in and Ellen triggers the bombs.

Dean and Sam make their way through the woods to the farm and find the mesmerized townsfolk. After figuring they’ve said everything they need to, they step out and confront Lucifer. Lucifer assures Sam that he’d never hurt him, and Dean gets behind him and shoots him in the head. Nothing happens for a minute, and then Lucifer winces in pain and gets back up, and asks where they found the Colt. He then casually smashes Dean away, heals the wound, and continues his conversation with Sam. He explains that there are five things that the Colt won’t kill, and he’s one of them. He continues digging while Sam checks on Dean, and then asks if Sam would just agree. Sam insists it will never happen, but Lucifer tells him it’ll happen within six months, in Detroit. Sam gets angry and says he’ll kill him himself, and Lucifer encourages him to give in to his rage. He explains that most of the townspeople have demons in them, and the women and children are dead and sacrificed to Death. Lucifer insists that he has to do what he’s doing and says Sam should explain. He explains that he was a younger brother who loved and idolized his older brother. Michael turned on him and called him a freak, and beat Lucifer down for being different.

Lucifer begins his chant to summon Death and has the other demons recite along with him. The demons collapse and Lucifer casually dismisses their sacrifice.

Castiel concentrates and slowly unfastens the bolts holding the heating pipe with his mind. Meg boasts that her side is going to win. Castiel tells her that Crowley believes Lucifer will destroy the demons once he has achieved his goal, but Meg doesn’t believe it. As she moves closer, Castiel finally loosens the pipe and it knocks her into the circle. He tries to expel her, but nothing happens and Meg boasts that he’s cut off from Heaven. When she asks what he can do, he throws her into the oil.

The ground starts to shake as Death is freed. Castiel appears and gestures the brothers to be quiet. Lucifer steps to the edge of the pit and greets Death.

Dean and Sam get back to Bobby’s house and they listen to the reports of death and destruction near Carthage. Bobby tosses the photo into the fire and they watch as it burns.

Watch Supernatural Season 5 Episode 10

Watched Supernatural Episode 9 – The Real Ghostbusters – tonight.. i just finished it. As usual the episode is entertaining but story-wise I don’t think it moved forward. Nothing new happened in the story line, it’s still where we’ve left off last week.. The one with Angel Gabriel the Trickster in Changing Channel

Dean and Sam find themselves mystically trapped in a series of real-life “TV shows” and there appears to be no escape. They believe their old enemy the Trickster is responsible, but discover someone or something else is involved.

On this episode, we found out that the immortal ‘Trickster’ is actually an angel.. and not just an angel, he is Angel Gabriel. As you know, all angels are brothers and sisters in the face of God.

The funny thing about this episode is that it reminded me of Perfect Stangers.. you probably know it too.. the one with the cousin, Mark Lyn Baker and Bronson Pinchot? Balky and Larry?! Ring a bell? yeah, the opening reminded me of that.

I love the “Nutcracker” scenes!

The “Curious Case of Dean Winchester” episode is a good one, let’s just hope that this “Changing Channels” episode is good.. .Here’ s a little synopsis:

Dean and Sam find themselves mystically trapped in a series of real-life “TV shows” and there appears to be no escape. They believe their old enemy the Trickster is responsible, but discover someone or something else is involved.

That don’t sound like an apocalyptic episode, but we’ll see.

Anyway, Sam and Dean try to track down a male witch running a poker game where the stakes are years off the players’ lives. However, Bobby finds the game first and loses. When Dean antes up to win back his friend’s years, he loses as well and now only Sam can win the day.

I love the scenes with the old version of Dean. I like the one where Sam and Dean climbed a flight of stairs till the 37th floor! Dean, old of young, is such a funny character.
