A friend recently recommended watching this series and I’ve only started with the first few episodes.

Although I don’t know when and where it’s being aired on TV, I’m currently watching from a dvd copy lent by a friend.

The series is about 3 families. They basically represent the most prominent forms of families that we see today in modern times. There’s the normal nuclear family with a mom, dad, and kids. There’s the new kind of family where the child is adopted and the parents are of the same gender. And then there’s the family with a mom marrying a new dad giving the son a step dad and the dad a new step son.

The genre of the show is comedy and so far, the first few episodes are passable.

I’ve only recently started watching True Blood and I’ve already finished Season 1.

At present the show has already begun it’s 4th season and although I’m behind, I still look forward to catching up.

This show is loosely based on a book series written by Charlaine Harris and was adopted as a TV series by HBO. If you’ve read the book series then you would surely want to watch the filmed one.

Since it’s loosely base, none of what happens in the series is predictable or written in the books already. The premise, plot, and characters were basically only just borrowed and the show’s scriptwriter has placed his personal flair in the series.

Over the last few days, I couldn’t really find anything interesting to watch. Currently, I am waiting for friends to lend some copies of the shows that they’ve already watched. Since I didn’t get hold of any new show yet and there seem to be nothing too interesting on TV, I’ve decided to lay off watching for a while.

Instead, I’ve decided to take a plunge through my imagination by reading a book series entitled The Game of Thrones. The books series has been actually recently adapted into a TV series on HBO. I haven’t started watching it yet but I’d rather read about it first.

Hopefully there’d be something new to watch soon.

Most of the TV series that I religiously follow seemed to have simultaneously gone on break or completely ended.

As of the moment, I am currently on the hunt for good shows to watch. And there were a lot of recommendations.

One of them is the series Community. I started watching this series awhile back but didn’t complete it. Now running on it’s second season, I shall definitely catch up.

Another series recommended to me by a friend is Game of Thrones. This one was said to be gory and very mature though I intend to explore it soon as I’m out of shows to watch.

Still keeping on the hunt, I hope to find some new shows soon.

There are a lot of Asian series being aired on TV nowadays and they are dubbed in Tagalog. I personally don’t prefer that.

Often times the voice they choose doesn’t match the personality or look of the character. Sometimes, they completely change the lines just to fit the frame of the opening and closing of mouth. Therefore it comes as no surprise that I prefer a subbed version rather that the dubbed.

When the series is subbed, the essence and the emotion of the show remains genuine and it’s much more meaningful. Often when dubbed, the ambiance of a certain line becomes lost in the translation.

Subbed definitely wins over dubbed.

There’s a new Korean series that has recently started airing in GMA7 and it’s entitled, Playful Kiss.

The is about a girl liking a intelligent guy who has attitude problems. The story actually starts during their High School days where the girl’s home collapses after a slight quake. Because their house collapsed at the slightest quake, their story was televised and her father’s long lost friend found them.

It turned out that the girl’s (Oh Ha Ni) father’s friend was the father of the boy (Baek Seung Jo) she liked. They ended up living together and eventually the guy develops feelings for the girl as well.

I’ve already watched the Korean version with english subtitles and I hope that it will be much liked by everyone else as well in the Filipino dubbed version.

Season 2 has officially ended for Glee! But the show did end it  with a bang as the last episode was filmed in New York city where the New Directions are going to compete for nationals.

The season has finally ended but having watched the last episode only made me want to watch the next season immediately!

In the final episode, you find all the glee kids feeling nostalgic because they were  in New York. There were scenes in broadway, Madison Square Garden, and etc.

Brittany gets another solo song. Charice is back. Quinn also gets a new haircut and she sure rocked the short hair look!

I can’t wait for the next season to start!

The show’s been running for 4 seasons already and even though the general population doesn’t really understand most of the science stuff, the series is still a great hit.

Who wouldn’t love these 4 socially handicapped scientists as they get through their daily lives and not laugh at how they eccentrically deal with situations that normal people face. The only downside of the show is that scientists all over the world are being stereotyped and type-casted as socially inept people; which is completely untrue.

There are a lot of great scientist that don’t have social problems and in fact, are as normal as anyone can get. I only wished that the show would also show scientists who are normal rather than every single one of them having a social issue.

With every season always comes an end and there are two shows, as far as I know that are about to end.

The first show is Glee. After taking a lot of breaks over the recent months, there are only two episodes left in Season 2 which means that after two weeks, we would be again waiting for a new season of Glee.

The season finale will be about the New Directions taking on Nationals in New York. And it was rumored that the production of the finale is absolutely grand. It was also rumored however that the cast of Glee would be recast as it is only logical that the characters would need to grow out of high school.

Another show that’s about to end is The Vampire Diaries. In the last episode, Damon Salvatore was bit by the warewolf Tyler. Would this season really be his end?

Can’t wait to watch the season finales!

This Korean Drama Series has made its debut on GMA7 last week. As with all dubbed series of foreign origin, I always prefer the original voices of the characters with subtitles below.

Changing the character’s voice, for me, actually changes the feel of the story. I have originally watched this series on line and in Korean with english subtitles only. Despite the fact that reading the subtitles may be tiring and the words there aren’t perfect translations, I still prefer that over dubbed voices.

I don’t have anything against the actual translation of the conversation in the series to Tagalog. What bothers me is the choice of voice that they got for the dubbed voice and the delivery of the lines. It really makes a whole lot of difference and changes the feel of the show entirely.
