A lot has happen in Dexter in the span of 4 seasons. I am probably one of the newest fan of Showtime hit TV series, Dexter.. based on Jeff Lindsay novel, Darkly Dreaming Dexter which won the 2005 Dilys Award.
I did the Dexter marathon in the last couple of weeks from season 1 to season 4 and I must say that the show good. I always believed that the heart of a good TV series can be found in the outcome or fan and critic review of the first season, and speaking as a fan, I thought that the first season is quite good… just like the first season of Heroes.
It was said that the first season was based on the novel but the subsequent series was an original story and concept of the producers of the TV series… although i have not read a single book.
Anyway, I just want to point out some inconsistencies from the show beginning season 1 to season 4. Dexter claims to be devoid of human emotion, but he does harbor feelings of a sort for the people in his life, including his sister Deborah, his girlfriend Rita, and her children, Astor and Cody. By the novel’s climax, he admits to himself that he is “fond” of them, the closest he can get to feeling love.
Devoid of human emotions huh? But as you can see in season 4, he’s a family man and he actually cares for his family. Why go that far? During the season ender of the first season when he’s about to kill his brother.. there’s an emotions there.
Rita… oh my dear Rita. If you noticed from season 1, the flat chested Julie Benz became the boobie Rita Morgan in season 4.. Actually the bigger boobies started I think in season 3 but I did have to confirm it in season 4 episodes.
An upgrade of Harry Morgan.. from season 1 and season 2, Dexter’s foster father Harry is a flashback memory of dexter when he was a young boy learning ‘the code’.. in season 3 and 4, Harry Morgan, the apparent ghost, is in the present time with Dexter.. but of course, he’s just a representation of Dexter thoughts.
This is a terrible show review in all of its texture. How do you expect a show to go on for four seasons without aspects of a persons life to change? Priorities change and along with that so does life. I’m sure if Dexter would go throughout his day confronting the same problems in his life, with the same attitude, the show would be ideally repetitious anyway. You might want to watch the four seasons over.

@David: you’re absolutely right, not only about the grammatical errors, but the show being repetitios if there are no development to the main character of the show.. I just want to mention that the show has gone a long way from the basic no-feeling, blending in guy to a family fan serial killer.. with all of that, I still love the show and looking forward to the next season and what’s going to happen to Harrison.
