The moment you decide to get rid of a few extra pounds, you must create a workout plan. Is exercising something you’re not used to doing? While it can be overwhelming, you can work your way into an exercise routine bit by bit by walking. You should absolutely add walking to any workout plan you start.

You can fit walking into your activities in numerous ways. You and your pet dog can both exercise by taking a short walk around your neck of the woods. Just consider, 10 minutes per day is equivalent of walking at least 70 minutes in a week. Walking with your dog two times each day doubles that number. Try walking to your office if you live pretty close to it. Naturally, if your office is two hours away, you may not want to walk that far–unless you’re preparing for a marathon! Walking 30 minutes to work is not impossible and, by the time you walk to and from work, you will have walked 60 minutes a day. If you commute to work, just walk to the next bus stop so that you do a little more walking each day. It’s not difficult to include walking into your daily routine.

Your body and overall health will be greatly improved by walking. Since walking is a form of aerobic workout, you’ll burn calories, which means you’ll lose weight and it’s also wonderful for your heart. Walking is so much more painless on your joints than running. For example, I’ve always wondered how my brother could stay so slim when he eats too much junk food. He says he has no idea but mentioned to me that he does a lot of walking every day. It made good sense when he said that. The non-difficulty of walking makes it unimaginable to come up with explanations for not doing it.

Follow a day-to-day walking routine, combine it with a balanced diet diet, and you should see weight loss without any big effort. When you walk daily, you’ll notice that you feel more fit and are motivated to keep on walking on a regular basis. As you walk more often and see changes, you’ll want to do more or hike up the intensity of your walks. If you believe you’re ready to move on to something tougher, don’t be afraid to make an attempt. Try walking at a faster pace or if you’re feeling very confident, you could start jogging. The next step will be to progress to even heavier workouts.

There should be no way for you to not go walking for a short distance each day. Even if you are busy, you can take out 10 minutes to walk around the block, or if you are a gym member, nip in and do 30 minutes on the treadmill at a slow pace to start off with.
