First of all, if you thought that the episode title was spoken by Kate somewhere in the episode, you are mistaken… It was not used in the entire episode! (Unlike “He’s Our You” when Sawyer aka LaFleur said it to Sayid)… Although yeah, the whole episode was Kate-centric, with the whole flash backs… but the “Whatever Happened, Happened” thing is by Miles and Hugo! Yay!
We find out what happened to Aaron, what happens to Ben, and how all the time travel stuff works, drawing from Back to the Future and our very own Doc Faraday, who has apparently disappeared. We also found out how the present Ben came to be. Apparently it was Kate and Sawyer who made present day Ben the way he are when they asked for Richard Alder’s (the other) help.
I love the way the episode ends, that is with present Ben woke up with John Locke on his side and John said, “Welcome to the land of the living” (if you can recall from the episode Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham, Ben killed off John Locke.)
